BookLeaf Reader is developed by Quiet Grove. This Privacy Policy explains how BookLeaf Reader handles information when you use the application.

Information Collection

BookLeaf Reader does not require an account and does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal information with Quiet Grove. The application does not include advertising, analytics, or third-party crash-reporting services.

Books and Documents

BookLeaf Reader accesses PDF and EPUB documents that you explicitly select using Android’s system file picker. BookLeaf Reader may retain read-only access to selected documents so that they can remain available in your library.

Your books and documents are not uploaded to Quiet Grove.

Information Stored on Your Device

BookLeaf Reader stores information locally that is necessary to provide its reading features. This may include:

• document names and locations;
• book titles and authors;
• reading progress and positions;
• bookmarks and favorites;
• library information;
• reading modes, typography, theme, layout, and other preferences;
• cached cover images.

Removing a book from the BookLeaf library does not delete the original document. Some locally stored information associated with the book, such as reading progress or bookmarks, may be retained so that it can be restored if the book is added again.

Android Backup and Device Transfer

Some locally stored BookLeaf data and preferences may be eligible for backup or transfer through Android’s system backup and device-transfer features. These services are provided and controlled by the Android platform and the user’s device or account settings.

Cached cover images are not included in Android backup.

Third-Party Software

BookLeaf Reader uses third-party and open-source software libraries to provide application and document-reading functionality. BookLeaf Reader does not integrate advertising, analytics, or third-party crash-reporting services.

Diagnostics and Data Security

BookLeaf Reader is designed to process books and reading information locally. Release versions of the application do not log the contents of users’ books for diagnostic purposes.

Children’s Privacy

BookLeaf Reader does not knowingly collect personal information from children or other users.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if BookLeaf Reader’s features or data practices change. The date at the top of this policy will indicate the latest revision.
